For the latest of H&M Innovation Stories, our design team trains their focus on more sustainably-sourced embellishments. Post-consumer materials such as PET plastic bottles and display shelves transform into 100% recycled-content sequins, rhinestones and beads.
This collection represents years of collaboration between multiple teams at H&M, who have been working together to increase the recycled content of embellishments. Inspired by the ethereal beauty of natural crystals and minerals, the line-up features radiant mini dresses, bejewelled co-ord sets and recycled brass jewellery.

EMBELLISHED MINI DRESS
This pearlescent mini dress is made in a fabric blend of 45% linen and 55% traceable Livaeco by Birla Cellulose viscose, sourced from certified sustainable forests. It is hand-embellished with 100% recycled-content embellishments, including sequins made from recycled PET plastic bottles, and beads made from recycled plastic display shelves and boxes.
A-LINE DRESS
This lemon yellow dress comes in 100% recycled polyester derived from textiles that might otherwise have ended up as waste. The rhinestone embellishment at the neck is 100% recycled plastic made of disused display shelves and boxes. The shell fabric and lining are mono-fibres, enabling further recycling once the garment has reached the end of its life.
JACQUARD A-LINE DRESS
This shimmering dress features a lilac jacquard skirt shot through with metallic silver, part of a print loosely inspired by Surrealist lips. The pearlescent sequins at the bust and straps are made from 100% recycled PET plastic bottle waste, and it comes in a fabric blend of 70% post-consumer recycled polyester, 21% Lurex and 9% polyamide.
EMBELLISHED STRAP DRESS
This emerald green mini dress features a rhinestone trim at the bust and spaghetti straps. The fabric comprises 100% recycled polyester derived from PET plastic bottles; meanwhile, the embellishments are made from 100% recycled-content materials, including rhinestones made from recycled plastic display shelves and boxes, and sequins made from recycled PET plastic bottles.
LONG JERSEY DRESS
A draped maxi dress in expertly cut jersey made from 94% recycled polyester derived from PET plastic bottles and 6% elasthane, this flattering dress features a glamorous panel of scattered black pearls at the front, made from 100% recycled-content plastic.
SLIP DRESS WITH FRILL
An elegant ruffle-trimmed slip dress in a refined lilac colour and a luxuriously weighty fabric blend comprising 55% recycled polyester and 45% polyester, this dress is trimmed at the bust with 100% recycled-content pearls and beads.
BUSTIER DRESS
Beautifully constructed with a corseted waist, this earthy grey mini dress comes in a blend of 97% recycled polyester and 3% spandex and is studded with recycled-content rhinestones made from post-consumer plastic and part-recycled metal.
EMBELLISHED DENIM JACKET
This denim jacket in a vintage-washed blend of 80% organic cotton and 20% recycled cotton features a rhinestone-studded neckline and exaggerated sleeves, as well as statement pearl buttons, with all embellishments making use of 100% recycled-content materials.
EMBELLISHED JEANS
Designed to accompany the denim jacket, these extra-long denim jeans made from a blend of 80% organic cotton and 20% recycled cotton are slit at the ankles for added attitude, their seams studded with sparkling rhinestones made from 100% recycled post-consumer plastic.
EMBELLISHED SHIRT
Part of a co-ordinating set, this eye-catching sheer mesh, lime green shirt is made of 100% recycled polyester which never stops sparkling, thanks to hundreds of 100% recycled-content beads and sequins.
EMBELLISHED TROUSERS
A pyjama-style pair of sheer mesh, lime-green 100% recycled-polyester trousers speckled with hundreds of 100% recycled-content beads and sequins – when paired with the lime green shirt, these really pack a punch.
EMBELLISHED WAISTCOAT
Part of a co-ordinating set, but equally a statement all on its own, this black cropped beaded waistcoat in a blend of 97% recycled polyester and 3% spandex has a subtly retro appeal thanks to black flower-patterned beading made from 100% recycled-content materials.
WRAP SKIRT
Designed to be worn alone or with the matching waistcoat, this black mini skirt in a blend of 97% recycled polyester and 3% spandex has a clean, classic silhouette that can be dressed up or down. The black flower-patterned beading is made from 100% recycled-content materials.
JACQUARD BRALETTE
This citrine yellow jacquard bralette is made in a blend of 70% recycled polyester, 21% lurex and 9% conventional polyamide. The metallic silver weave in the jacquard is detailed with an embellished trim of 100% recycled-content rhinestones made from recycled plastic display shelves and boxes.
JACQUARD A-LINE SKIRT
With its 1960s-infused silhouette and precious citrine hue, this jacquard skirt in a blend of 70% recycled polyester, 21% lurex and 9% conventional polyamide brings the party thanks to its unmissably glitzy 100% recycled-content rhinestone trim. Pair it with the co-ordinating bralette to feel the full sparkle effect.
BEADED TOP
A halterneck style in a meticulously constructed lattice of pearls and golden-green beads, with ribbon-tie detail at the back and fringing at the waist, this top features 100% recycled-content beads made from recycled plastic display shelves and boxes.
JERSEY TANK TOP
Because everyone loves a lo-fi layering wardrobe binder: introducing this 97% organic cotton and 3% elastane-blend tank top that nevertheless glitters thanks to an embellished trim of 100% recycled-content rhinestones.
PLATFORM SHOE
Sculptural and sky-high, these platform shoes come in a zesty citrus shade and a blend of 72% Lenzing EcoVero viscose made using sustainable wood from controlled sources and 28% organic silk. The chunky rhinestone-speckled, enamel-effect citrus buckle at the ankle comprises 92% post-consumer recycled brass, 7% post-consumer recycled steel and 1% glass.
DECO BAG
The after-dark accessory you’ll be reaching for season after season, the Deco bag is a feel-good, mini style embellished with a disco-ready mesh of 100% recycled-content rhinestones on a lime green 100% recycled polyester base.
SUNGLASSES
The 100% recycled plastic pearlised white sunglasses with tinted brown lenses in 100% recycled plastic with frames made of 100% titanium will add instant edge to any outfit.
HOOP EARRINGS
The textured white and silver hoop earrings are made from 99% post-consumer recycled brass and 1% glass.
LIP EARRINGS
A kitsch-inflected design inspired by Surrealist art, the shiny silver lips that dangle from 1960s-style, ball-shaped studs are made from 70% recycled plastic and 30% post-consumer recycled brass.
RING SET
Mirroring the chunky design of the hoop earrings, the hoop rings in a mix of shiny silver and violet and lime are made from 99% post-consumer recycled brass and 1% glass.
BUTTON RING
In glossy lime green, with a green pearlescent orb in the middle, the statement cocktail ring is made from 98% post-consumer recycled brass and 2% glass.
BIG RING
A chunky pearlescent cocktail ring with a metal base, made from 51% recycled plastic and 49% post-consumer recycled brass.
